Available Dogs

Thank you for your interest in our available dogs. We like to get to know the dogs in our care prior to posting them for adoption so if you do not see the dog you are looking for, feel free to put an interest form in telling us what you are looking for in a forever friend. We love to "match-make" and we may have a dog that is not yet posted that is perfect for you. Once we have an interest form from you, one of our staff will contact you (in 7 - 10 days) to discuss your needs in detail as well as the dog(s) you are interested in.

I absolutely LOVE cuddling with my family. It's so great to get love and attention! My favorite is getting belly rubs in the morning. I'm a sweet boy and I really love my humans, but I do need time to warm up. My foster family has kept me on a consistent routine, which has helped me adapt to their home. I get anxious easily and I'll need help and some management with my anxiety. Snuggles and hugs from my foster mom help a lot. I am a really quick learner and have been working on sit, stay, and lie down. I listen really well when a treat is waiting for me. I'm a good boy who needs support and love to calm me down when I'm nervous. I'd do best in a home as an only dog and no small children, please.

General Socialization Notes:

I am learning to be comfortable around other dogs and other people but right now, I'm still a bit unsure. I need a family who is willing to be patient with me. I am a bit reactive on leash, but treats and a squeaky toy help distract me. I have really loved having my foster family home during the day during quarantine and I'm not quite used to staying home alone yet. I'm working on being comfortable by myself, but get nervous when I'm left completely alone.

Does Henri like other pets?

I'm still learning to be comfortable around other dogs. I'd do best in a home as an only dog and no cats.

Does Henri like children?

Meeting new people can make me anxious, and I get uneasy with children because they move really fast. I need a home with no small children. Only children over 12 years of age.

Favorite Toys:

Fetch is my favorite game to play, and I really like balls and squeaky toys. If you throw the toy for me, I will bring it right back.This is my favorite game and I could play it all day long.

Ideal Forever Home:

My ideal forever home is with a family with no small chilren and no other dogs. I need a family that, maybe, works from home, so I don't have to worry about being alone for long periods of time. I have lots of energy and like to play, so I really want a backyard where I can run around and play fetch. My new family needs to be patient and willing to help me learn that it's okay to be around unfamiliar people and animals. I also want my new family to continue to work on training me. I need a family who can love me as much as I love them!
