Available Dogs

Thank you for your interest in our available dogs. We like to get to know the dogs in our care prior to posting them for adoption so if you do not see the dog you are looking for, feel free to put an interest form in telling us what you are looking for in a forever friend. We love to "match-make" and we may have a dog that is not yet posted that is perfect for you. Once we have an interest form from you, one of our staff will contact you (in 7 - 10 days) to discuss your needs in detail as well as the dog(s) you are interested in.

I'm a cattle dog, which should say plenty about me. I can be intense and I love to chase critters. I can also be a bit of an escape artist/. But don't let that stop you from learning about me. I love other dogs, once I get to know them, and kids are my favorite. Let me come home with you and you can see what a good dog I can turn into.

General Socialization Notes

I am playful, enthusiastic, energetic, independent and a great car and office companion. I don't have separation anxiety or destroy human property. My only issues are a strong drive to escape and extreme reactivity towards other animals, especially wild animals. When I escape I do not get into trouble and typically stay in or around the unfenced portion of my yard.

Does Lacey like other animals?

I have a ten-year-old German Shepherd friend with whom I am extremely close, affectionate, and playful. I am friendly with a few dogs she knows. I can be leash-reactive when I am out on walks, though, and that is something I will need your help to work on.

Does Lacey like kids?

I am very fond of children and has had a fair amount of exposure to children a variety of ages.

Favorite Toys

I am a cattle dog, so I love to play with pull toys, balls, squeak toys, and stuffed animals.

Ideal Home

My ideal home would be one where I get regular attention and love either with a single person who hangs out with me all the time or with a family. I need someone who can provide walks or outdoor play a couple of times a day. It will be very important that you have a securely fenced yard or acreage. I do take some time to warm up to other dogs, but once settled, I would be a great companion for another dog or dogs. I do not think that a home with cats would be a good idea.
