General Socialization Notes:

I am very smart. “Brilliant” even. I learn quickly and am eager to please. I don't need to be kenneled. I don't destroy your things. If I'm really stressed about something I'll destroy some of my toys. If you ask I'll bring you any squeakers I pull out in exchange for a treat. I'm really not good on leash yet, but gradually getting better. I've been practicing in a big area without distractions to improve my focus. I'm not ready to walk around other dogs, people or especially rabbits yet. I need to keep working toward that. Car rides are hard for me too. I get overly excited and kind of loud at first. We have learned that I get anxious and don't listen well when I'm hungry. If I seem like I'm stressed about nothing it's probably an empty tummy. 

Does Hobbs like other animals?

I've been living with 2 older dogs about my size. I love to play with them. I am sometimes too much and need help understanding when to stop. I'm getting better at that. Small dogs might not be good because I guess I play a bit rough. A home with no cats would be best.

Does Hobbs like children?

I think I would love children who are not too little. Maybe teenagers or near teens. Someone to play with me. 

Favorite Toys:

I like a lot of toy variety. Sometimes it's nice to have a tug toy, something I can shake if you're not in a tug mood. Squeaker balls are my favorite. I'll put them right in your lap so you can toss them across the room for me. That's my favorite game.

Ideal Forever Home:

My ideal forever home is one with a pretty big yard and some indoor floor space to play too. I'd love a dog around my size and age who will play with me. I would also be fine as your only dog. I do like getting all of the attention. A 6 foot privacy fence is a must. I can climb chain link and I can get over a shorter fence. My foster mom's yard is in the back away from people and dogs walking by. That's really perfect for me. Oh… I am protective and will tell you if there are intruders about. Delivery trucks carry potential intruders and are very suspicious. If you're looking for a best friend who is smart, sweet, playful and energetic, I'm your guy!
